Linda Rottenberg, CEO and co-founder of Endeavor, to deliver lecture Feb. 23 at Wilkes

Linda Rottenberg, a leader in promoting of global entrepreneurship, will be the speaker at the Allen P. Kirby Lecture Series on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Wilkes University.

“Reclaiming the American dream: getting back our entrepreneurial spirit” will be the topic. Linda Rottenberg, named one of “America’s Best Leaders” by U.S. News & World Report and one of the “Forbes Impact 30,” will speak at 7:30 p.m. in 101 Stark Learning Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Rottenberg is the CEO and co-founder of Endeavor. Since 1997, Endeavor has been leading the global movement to generate long-term economic growth by selecting, mentoring, and accelerating the best high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. Rottenberg’s organization has offices in 15 countries around the world, and the Endeavor entrepreneurs have created over 150,000 jobs and annually generate $4.5 billion.

Named one of 100 “Innovators for the 21st century” by TIME and “Ms. Davos” by Business Leader in 2011, Rottenberg has served as co-chair of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East, and she currently vice-chairs the Forum’s Entrepreneurship Council. She is also featured in a chapter of Thomas Friedman’s The World is Flat, in which Friedman dubs her a “mentor capitalist.” Rottenberg’s ideas and developments are expanding so vastly that she was given the honor of being the closing keynote speaker at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Linda Rottenberg’s recognition and awards include “Innovator for the 21st Century” by Time Magazine; “Hero” award in Dell’s “Take Your Own Path” ad campaign; Asper Award for Global Entrepreneurship (2009); Veuve Cliquot Business Woman of the Year (2008); 10 Women to Watch of 2008 by Running Start; Person of the Year by Office of Women in International Trade (2007); 100 Bold Innovators of 2003 by MIT Technology Review; 25 Next-Generation Leaders to Watch by Latin Finance and America Economia; and "The Most Important Not-For-Profit Leader in Latin America" by Poder-BCG Business.

Along with being a member of the Young Presidents Organization, the World Economic Forum’s Entrepreneurship Steering Committee, and The Council on Foreign Relations, Rottenberg received her J.D. from Yale Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University where she received a bachelor’s degree in social studies. Having assembled an unparalleled network of the world’s foremost business leaders and investors, Rottenberg is often sought out for her ability to understand new trends in global business.

The Allan P. Kirby Center Lecture Series brings leading voices in free enterprise and entrepreneurship to the Wilkes University campus and northeastern Pennsylvania by hosting two lectures annually. These forums provide students and the community insight into the creative process and drive of the entrepreneur.
