Job Rooster and have partnered to bring mobile recruiting to thousands of businesses and local unemployed workers living in the northeastern Pennsylvania region. The partnership will create a first-of-its-kind single repository for local jobs in northeast Pennsylvania that can be accessed by users either online or from any mobile phone.

Job Rooster’s online and mobile service streamlines hiring practices for NEPA businesses by allowing them to post jobs online, distribute job postings via text message and pre-qualify candidates. Employers benefit by reaching a wider audience of job seekers and gathering real-time, granular data about the recruitment effort. Job seekers who sign up with will now receive job alerts at their mobile phone, allowing them to continue their job search even when they are not in front of a computer.

“The project management team for the new had a vision to bring jobs to people, which is exactly what we do” said Job Rooster’s CEO, Nick Ellis. “Putting local job seekers first in line for the jobs of tomorrow by making employment information available to anyone, anytime, anywhere both online and on their mobile phone is a fundamental shift in how job search works — this is truly innovative.”

Karla Porter, director of workforce development and human resources, at The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, is spearheading the initiative to rebuild and market the regional job board to improve recruiting outcomes through enhanced technology and features.
“We’re confident that area employers and job seekers will be very enthusiastic about having a job board with the kind of new features the revamped has,” said Porter. “Chambers, economic and workforce development agencies are serious about providing cutting-edge assistance to match regional talent and opportunity and we are fortunate to have this partnership with Job Rooster to make it happen.

Regional partners expect to improve the accessibility of employment services and also gather greater insight into local labor market trends using Job Rooster’s service.
