Florey and Holloway Cleaners are in April Spotlight

The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, First Liberty Bank and Trust and The Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal are proud to announce that Florey and Holloway Cleaners is the recipient of the April 2010 Small Business Spotlight Award.
Each month, The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce presents the Small Business Spotlight Award, sponsored by First Liberty Bank and Trust, recognizing a small local business for their contributions to the local community. The Small Business Spotlight selection committee chose Florey and Holloway Cleaners for small business growth and supporting local organizations and events.
Florey and Holloway Cleaners LLP opened in September 2009 on the Scranton-Carbondale Highway in Dickson City. Founded by Gordon “Scot” Florey Sr. and Dwayne R. Holloway, Florey and Holloway Cleaners is a “green cleaner,” meaning that they utilize 100 percent biodegradable methods in their laundering and dry cleaning services. They are currently the only 100 percent environmentally safe dry cleaner in Lackawanna County.
Their business model has proved to be a success despite a shrinking customer base for dry cleaning relative to the economic downturn. The company ended their 2009 year with sales 47 percent above 2008; the company is also anticipating an increase in sales for 2010 and is even considering expansion in 2011.
Florey enjoys working with his local customers. “Local people are quick to tell us how much the like our quality and service,” which are two of the key factors to which Florey attributes the company’s success.
