The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, First Liberty Bank and Trust and The Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal are proud to announce that Green Field Energy Solutions is the recipient of the December 2009 Small Business Spotlight Award.
Each month, The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce presents the Small Business Spotlight Award, sponsored by First Liberty Bank and Trust, recognizing a small local business for their contributions to the local community.
The Small Business Spotlight selection committee chose Green Field Energy Solutions for small business growth and supporting local organizations and events.
Green Field Energy Solutions, based in Mayfield, is an authorized dealer for both Proven Energy Ltd. and Southwest Windpower Inc. small wind turbines. Green Field Energy Solutions consults with residential and commercial clients and utilizes wind turbines and other energy-efficient products to maximize clients’ ability to “Get Off The Grid.”
“Green Field Energy Solutions was developed because of a curiosity about renewable energy and a desire to build a 'green' home. This turned into a passion for helping others reduce their reliance upon traditional energy sources,” said Deanna Kilmer, president of Green Field Energy
Solutions. Deana collaborated with a team of engineers, science, and construction experts to create Green Field Energy Solutions, which launched in December 2008.
“We enjoy doing business in the area because we are helping our friends and neighbors begin to recognize alternatives to energy production,” said Ms. Kilmer. “We feel that each little step collectively will make a big impact on our environment, our future and future generations.”
The company has been honored for their entrepreneurship, receiving the Lackawanna County Certificate of Merit for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur Award.
